Arianne had visited the Descending Angels and put in her app for employment. Upon learning of her acceptance, she immediately when to work Counting her weapons and piloting ways to meet the contracts offered, Arianne smiled and mussed at the feeling of excitement she was having.
She failed at her first attempt. Deciding to go after Lily first... she found it difficult as she was in shadows. Trying to remember her warrior training from years ago, Ari tried to scroll her out but only managed to piss of the target's wife. Seeing she was not having luck, Ari moved to the next one, Kaotic.
She had been watching the interactions with those who had hit already. She thought or rather hoped stating the obvious would present a similar fate when she threw her weapons. Moving quickly, Ari found Kaotic and smiled sweetly before saying, "It's not personal, only business." before her hands hurled a vial of Holy water at her. Upon impact, Ari broke open a scroll, displacing herself from he scene.
She stood in the darkness catching herself. Though her heart did not beat, she felt excitement from her action just now. Arianne smiled letting it wash over her. The rush made her feel good. made her forget the pain she been living in for the past few weeks.
Once she settled, Ari curled up to sleep under the stars of the city night. Not caring what would come.

The next day, Ari awoke to the smell of burning dead flesh. She looked to see uninvited guests came to pay her a visit. Slowly, she got up. She felt the whisper of kaotic linger from when she had been there. "Nothing personal, just business."
Ari smiled at the memory of the retort and shook her head. 'At least she came to play with her family.' Ari thought to herself as she adjusted her clothes. Someone would have to pay for ruining a good outfit. She made her way to a bathroom to clean up as best she could. Feeling hungry she looked for someone to feed from. No one was around. Ari frowned and reached in her mind... sensing her former aunt near. she decided to pay her a visit.
Knocking on the door, Ari stood there holding onto the door frame to steady herself as the effects of being hit, washed over her. It had been a while since she felt this way. Her memory floated to past times of her being hit. She had forgotten how it felt to be hit by holy water. She was brought back to the present when the door opened to a friendly sight of Jada.
Jada frowned upon seeing the state Ari was in. She waved her in and gently inquired what happened. Ari smiled and wrinkled her nose. "I woke up to find kaotic and her family... they assaulted me as i slept. I am sure... it has everything to do with my little toss at her yesterday....." Ari smiled. "I even told her it was not personal... just business... so when she threw her flowers she replied in kind. the brat." Arianne gave a chuckle. Jada nodded and simply stated, "Ahh. The ddary are retaliating against us." Ari nodded, "indeed."
The chat quickly shifted into lessons of things Arianne needed to know and understand. Ari continued, "I went to hit her again.... she had coin on her...i debated whether or not to rob instead from her.... the hw won." She smirked. Jada nodded and explained. "Always choose the holy water when a target glows yellow... It's a tactic."
As they talk, Ari stumbled. Things become fuzzy for a moment and she steadies herself. "wow.. been a while since i felt this way." Jada smiled, " sit... It will pass." Ari sat as Jada spoke, nodding and thinking to herself 'either my forgetfulness is a side affect of being attacked or i have been stale for longer than i thought.' Looking at Jada, Ari took in the continued explanation of the coin. "Anytime you are in war or simply working and you see that, do not take the bait unless the target is suspected of being on the way to necro or shop. Ari nodded slowly, "i am always in need of money so... i shall remember." Jada nodded and said comfortingly, "We all seem to be in need if coin these nights..."
There was a pause, Ari made mental notes and tried to absorb everything Jada was telling her. Another question came, " When should i necro.. .when job is over or....?" Jada smiled and elegantly answered, "Necroing should be lowest on your priority list. Always make sure you have fully stocked your weapons. Necro only when you have some spare coin, and only a little at a time. Ari nodded slowly.
Shifting yet to another topic Ari inquired, "is there an amount of weapons i should have.... like a low end or high end stock amount?" "Yes. I can send you my usual numbers later if you like. We usually take fire in this job, so necroing just isn't worth it." Ari nodded and touched one ofh her recent wounds. "Thank you..." She winced as she shifted to get comfortable. "at least this time... i woke up... last fight i was in, back when i was a Cap... i got zeroed in my sleep. not sure which i prefer. Ari said as she grumbled and wrinkled her nose. Jada grinned, "Hmmm... Me neither! though, we do not all rest in this business..." Arianne nodded. "i will need to at least at the beginning..... i am so out of practice." She chuckled and wrinkled her nose. Jada gave a nod. "soon you will be on top of your game again, never fear" she offered with a grin. Not being a warrior, Ari retorted, "Don't think i ever had one... " as she chuckled. Jada offered, "Then I will teach you all I know." and gave her a wink. Ari smiled and said, "I would like that..."
After a few more minutes of chit chat and catching up, Ari left Jada to go feed and rest up. She had planned to do a bit more on this contract.

Making her way home, She found some humans to feed on. She tried not to go over board and kill them or hurt them. Once4 she finished, Ari went home to change and relax.
Not able to sleep, Ari wandered the city thinking about kaotic. She teleported to her location, smiled and threw another holy water. Disappearing, she snuck into another alley to wait for another chance. It was while she waited, Ari found sleep. The nap cost her more of her blood, as Kaotic and her kin, again traveled to her and burned her some more.
Waking up again to more fresh burned. Ari just smiled and found it funny that they had each time waited till she slept to do anything. Using this energy, Ari found kaotic again and exchanged another bout. She scampered away to await their attack.
And it came, and another.....
Ari found much enjoyment and was glad she decided to go outside herself and join DA.

Several more times would Ari rest and wake up with fresh new burns. They no longer stung when she moved. Each time she would move only to hit her target and then hide to await them. She knew like clockwork they would come.
The rush kept building and Ari rejoiced in it. Not to mention the fact, she was begining to like this. Why she had resisted throwing weapons made her chuckle. She finally understood what the feelings meant and why war was so seductive and appealing. Licking her lips, Ari put away her holy water to prepare for her next round. Garlic spray was called for now and it would hurt. Ari would make sure it would when she threw it.
She let few hours go by and then found Kaotic again. She chuckled a bit as her family slowly gathered around her like some sheild. A memeber or two sat with he now. Shaking her head, Ari quickly moved it andbefore anyone could do anything, She tossed the garlic at Kaotic. She heard the scream and knew it went right in to one of the wounds from a previous bout.
Waving as she disappeared, Ari hunkered down. Soon this would be over and she hoped not before they got to her to force her to sleep.

Waking up, she smiled seeing some more paid her a visit. this was getting a bit old. "They fight like scared children, waiting for me to slumber to come at me." she chucked and brushed off, going home to change and clean up.
Getting a message from her leader, Kenosha, Ari nodded and waited for further instructions. She laid out her scrolls of turning and made sure they were still usable. They were. She had to wait for a call then she could move in for some fun.
When it came, She rushed to the spot and started breaking them open to recite as fast as she could the words that would send pain to Kaotic and anyone near. At first she resisted. Then suddenly she saw the young woman stagger and she giggled as she continued her assault. Every time she would stumble, Ari moved to speak at her again and again.
Her family quickly woke up and surrounded her. It did not make a bit of difference to Ari. She kept at it as if in a trance. She felt holy water hit her and ignored it as she moved along with Kaotic. In mid scrolling, Sartori came to displace he, making her hit an innocent. She stopped then in horror.
Having injured someone not intended for this. Ari quickly moved to check to see if he was ok. He seemed so. She gave an apology and hoped it would ease his mind.
Ari silently left to go clean up and rest.

Next morning...
All seemed well. There were no new attacks since she stopped hitting. As instructed, she stayed put, waiting for further instruction. It gave her time to focus on the trip she been planning for her and her childers. She drank only when a human came to her location, and calculated the weapons she would need to stock up on when she had time for shopping.
Several days now passed...
The calm was interrupted by what seemed to be misplaced hits. She had almost forgotten she had been a target of Sartori and his kin. Upon waking, she noticed new burns, fresh ones still eating away at her skin. She recognized the names, they were from Sartori's line. Ari shifted carefully as she got up from her rest.
Grumbling she cleaned them out and bit her tongue as she did so, not having her daughter's tea to take away their sting, made it even more painful as she washed out the burns and bandaged them up. She took a fresh shirt from her back she has with her to wear. Grumbling, Ari would seek out Abel or kenosha to talk.

After a talk with Kenosha, Arianne was beinging to see that some things needed work. Her performance thus far was if nothing else enthusiastic and dedicated to the contract at hand. She feared she might not last if things keep going as they were. She wanted it done as much as anyone working on it. She did not want to necro or give the D’dary’s the satisfaction. Ari was determined to see this to the end Even if her own blood was spilt all over the city.
Upon new instructions, Ari saved her energy, only moving when she had to. Most of what she had to do outside of this job could be done while her body laid still. Tending to family matters and planning her vacation was a welcomed break from the waiting and retaliations for the targets family. She hoped she would not be seeing zero before this was done. It would seriously mess up her travel plans she was making for her and her family.
It was a Friday when she got word they were going to try again. This time, a small number of employees were on hand. Though it did not feel right, Ari and the others that were present would make the best of it. Acting as swiftly and carefully, they all went to the target and rained hard as they could on her. It was difficult and as it progressed, Ari saw that perhaps this would not be enough, no matter how gung ho she and the others were. Though they all tried, they came up short of their goal. All the work they had done that night was erased in a moment. Their target nercoed a third time (or so it seemed). Back to square one.

Frustrated, Ari looked over the way things went down. In her mind, she saw some things needed to change, some things she did had to be refined, and they would need more than just three of them next time. She laid low as much as she could reserving her energy and making preparations for the next time. Taking stock of herself, Ari realized the need to change and what items she needed to stock up on. Arianne felt the next encounter would be much better. The papers did not help. The way some were twisting and trying to make DA look bad only fueled Ari’s want to finish this and do better. Time was on their side. It was not how long it took or how they finish, it was that the job at hand gets done.
Many nights passed only making the d’dary family more verbal in their attacks. By not moving Ari saw that the power they had diminished. There were reasons for each action or word by all those involved. This was a different approach for Ari, and not one she fully understood but was beginning to see its merit and value. When they were ready to strike everyone would know it. After all actions speak louder than words. In this case, The D’darys would have nothing else left to say when it was over.
The members gathered for the next attempt. Everyone was hyper and anxious to do his or her job. The rush Arianne felt her first night returned. Her eyes lit up as she gingerly played with a vial of garlic and water. She waited her turn, and when it came, light lightning struck, fast and with a fury no one had seen from her in years. Unleashing a double shot garlic spray, She started to speak in a tongue repeatedly, which made her target bounce around the city streets like a jumping bean. She did this until she was almost in exhaustion. Stopping she tagged another member to pick off where she left off and it continue until their goal was reached. After hours of tossing weapons and scrolling, finally the end was near.
Their goal was in sight, and with a bit of luck and timing, the target fell into darkness. In the last moments, Kenosha whispered a final message to the target that explained why DA had been hired. Every one celebrated that night, and it was well deserved and needed. Ari expected there to be incoming hits from the family like times before. But that did not matter in these precious moments of completing the job they all were hired to do. It felt good to have it done and over with. It was finished. At least in Arianne’s mind.
